Overview

In this spoof of Alcoholics Anonymous, pussy cats are cast as bird-eating addicts and go through the 12-step process to deal with their addiction. Sylvester, who could never quite get the best of the object of his desire, Tweety Bird, joins and resolves to quit chasing and eating the canary.

Sylvester tries to go on the wagon with the help of Birds Anonymous, but the temptation of Tweety is too much. Sylvester pleads: "I gotta have a bird! I'm weak, but I don't care! I can't help it! After all, I am a pussy cat.".
I wasn't sure where this one was going until the very end. I could see it being a source of laughing-at-the-familiar for addicts. Even people with serious problems have the capacity to have a little laugh at their experience, after all. However, I also saw how it played as a mockery of their work to remain sober. It's right there on the fence until the final moment, when Tweety issues his verdict: "Once a bad ol' puddy tat, always a bad ol' puddy tat!" Yeah, way to pass judgment on anyone struggling to overcome addiction, Tweety. Jerk. How Birds Anonymous.
